Vunerable person with a cognitive impairment?

If you are caring and struggling with a vunerable person with cognitive impairment, or if you are a person who identifies as a vunerable person with a cognitive impairement, you are able to seek help from the Justice Advocacy Service.
The service will begin to rollout from 1 July 2019 and will be available at all locations by 30 August 2019. More information including a full list of rollout dates and locations is available in the relevant fact sheet.
As per the Mental Health (Forensic Provisions) Act 1990 (NSW) cognitive impairment includes (without limitation) any of the following:
borderline intellectual functioning
acquired brain injury’
drug or alcohol related brain damage, including fetal alcohol spectrum disorder
autism spectrum disorder.
